from-gambit What is the best line for white according to you in the from-gambit?
1. f4, e5 2.fxe5, d6 3.exd6, Bxd6 4.Nf3, g5 ???

A line I've read about but not really looked into too far:

1. f4 e5 2. fxe5 d6 3. exd6 Bxd6 4. Nf3 g5 5. g3 g4 6. Nh4 Ne7 7. d4 Ng6 8. Nxg6 hxg6 9. Qd3 Nc6 and the source I read reckoned that white stands better.

The line was attributed to Lasker...

I prefer to decline it... ...via the unheralded Hayward Variation 1. f4 e5 2. fxe5 d6 3. Nf3 dxe5 4. Nc3. While there seem to be independent possibilities in this position, it can also transpose into variations of the King's Gambit Declined. If you are really interested in the Bird, check out Keith Hayward's site at www.geocities.com/drawyah/ --his analysis is much more detailed than mine.
